Put A Face On It

What can we do? What is our part? That is something I have been asking myself since the murder of George Flyod. And to be honest I’m not even just talking about Black Lives Matter because it is bigger than that. I am talking about the country as a whole. This nation, the people in this nation, the poor, broken, outcast, the communities of people who are hurting and helpless. What can we do? What can I do?

This week I was on the phone with my grandma and she was talking about what we as the body of Christ should be doing but haven’t been doing. We gave up our responsibility to “Defend the cause of the weak and fatherless; maintain the rights of the poor and oppressed. Rescue the weak and needy; deliver them from the hand of the wicked” - Psalms 82:3-4. With the way the world is today we have to step up, join together and put our hands and feet on the ground because that is what we have been instructed to do. It is all throughout the Bible. We let this nations marginalized people suffer because we have not been doing our job. Taking care of the poor, downtrodden, widows, children, the broken. That is on us to handle, not the government. We have to start LOVING PEOPLE more than we love our own comfortability. We need to be going out in the community being Jesus hands and feet in our towns, districts and cities. Giving money is great and needed but money doesn’t have a face or a name to it that will give the warm smile or hug that leaves Jesus on their life. We need to put a face to His love. We are His ambassadors, His representation. If you know me you know I love analogies. Take an ambassador for another country, when they come to America they go around meeting and doing the things in which give a face to their country and establish beneficial relationship. They do that to the people that are considered important. We are to do the same for The Kingdom of God, but the people He tells us are important for us to interact with are our neighbors. Neighbors in Christ doesn’t mean the people you live next to, it means the people that need help, love, justice, mercy. [Luke 10:25-37]. This world and the people of this world are not our home but they are our calling.

The goal in life for us, is for Christ to come back. He said it will happen but only when every people group has heard His Word, and when His church is without spot or wrinkle. We can’t be spotless and wrinkle free if we are neglecting the biggest command we have to those in need. We have a duty to the people, a God appointed duty. We have church in the building but we can only be the Church IN the world. We have to step out from behind our checkbook, screens, and place of comfortability and ENGAGE the people who need us most. They need Jesus, yes, but Jesus chooses to use US as His representation. “They will know you are my disciples by how you love” they cant know our love if it is not in front of them to see. Are we going to be a generation full of Godly love? Are we going to be a generation full of Davids in a world full of Sauls? Are we going to be a generation that lives by the Word of God only? Are we going to be a generation that sees Jesus come back? I don’t know about you, but man, oh man I would like to be apart of that.

Below is a list of links to things you can become apart of or do to help bring change and love to the community. Make it fun, bring your friends, show up and love on people. I personally am going to be going to be contacting John 3:16 and also Thursday Night Lights. It is time to step up. I hope you will join me! Seriously, contact me if you’d like to join me! I will drive haha :)

Getting Prepared: The Long Way

Y'all - I know it’s been a minute but MAN have I got something to share. This has been building for a little, but exploded in my heart today! Ima be very transparent in this post lol - H.O.T. (Humble. Open. Transparent.) So I didn't realize, fully, until today that I have been in a wilderness season. Just disappointment after disappointment, things going wrong left and right and just tryna navigate lol. So, yesterday, I was praying and I heard the Lord say something to me about the direction for my life. To be honest, I questioned it because well... I hadn't been connected to Him the few weeks prior. Basically He said to me in my doubt "You don't have to prove your worth in order to hear my voice. My children hear my voice, if they are listening. You are listening, so you don't have to prove yourself to trust that I am and will speak to you"  He's not gonna give us the silent treatment or go ghost, because we messed up.  Talk about toxic thinking bei...

Take Two

Take two? Yes, take two. This will be the second time I have felt the desire to start something like this. The inital time was during 2020 when well everyone was trying new things. We were at the height of racial tension, and life had just been "flipped-turned upside down." I, like many, had some stuff to say. But, as most did with the things they picked up during quarantine, I put this to the side and continued in the "normalcy" that we eventually got back too. This time tho, it is different. Well, actually, no, not really. Both times, I believe they were directives from the Lord, only this time I will follow through lol. So yes, this time is different! This time, instead of hoping the outside world will give me things to share my perspective on, I will allow God to give me things, From The Sacred Place, to share my perspective on. My goal with this blog is to write about  things I am learning through life. The Lord is constantly speaking and sharing secrets of the...

Growing a Mustard Seed

So I got his revelation during Transformation Church's week of prayer and fasting. We were praying from a set of verses when I realized they all built upon each other. They all described how faith worked. Faith is such a simple concept, though it's not easy, at all. Most of the Bible is simple, yet not easy. This post will be more of a teaching than all the others have been thus far. I'm going to try and explain my revelation, as effectively and efficiently as I can. Alright, let's go. Growing up one of the most quoted verses I heard was "all things are possible to him who believes" [Mark 9:23]. Growing up in the Word of Faith denomiation meant that the promises in the Bible were and are the things we clung to. I grew up learning that if it is a promise in the Bible, it is your right as a believer to see that manifested in your life. I still believe that. However, the most challenging part of that idea is having full confidence in those promises, especially if...
